We need your help!

Thank you for supporting the Tioga United Way.

Tioga United Way brings together businesses, nonprofits, government, experts, and volunteers to identify our most pressing needs, invest in long-term solutions and improve people’s lives. A lot of thought goes into how Tioga United Way invest your dollars. Our goal is to create solutions to the most critical problems in our community. We monitor programs that receive funding to ensure donors’ contributions are making the greatest possible impact.

Donating to a United Way supports your community’s charitable organizations! Your donations fund the much needed community human services program that provide help to those people in your community that need it the most. Dollars raised in Tioga County stay in Tioga County. A local volunteer board of directors makes the Tioga United Way accountable for every dollar raised. Volunteers monitor and evaluate each funded program of every member agency that comes to us for assistance. Your donation helps Tioga United Way to:

  • Raise funds on behalf of many lesser known agencies that might not otherwise exist.
  • Promote relationships among and participation of all races, genders, ages and cultures.
  • Bridge all boundaries to develop a healthy, caring community. This goes beyond the traditional human service solutions to consider economic and community development solutions as well.

Giving to the United Way shows you CARE about your neighbors in need throughout Tioga County.

How Your Donation Is Used

Before your donation is distributed, we conduct an extensive allocation process to ensure your contributions are used to improve the quality of life in Tioga County. Here’s how it works:

You make a pledge to United Way. (Thank You!) Tioga United Way Board Members (volunteers) review program proposals. Tioga United Way Executive Committee (volunteers) deliberate and make allocation recommendations
